How we can help
When slates are coming off in a storm or water is coming through a ceiling, you need someone who'll answer the phone and turn up. We make the roof safe and watertight first, then come back for the permanent repair once the weather allows.
Westerly storms coming in off the Irish Sea and the Solway are what generate most of our emergency call-outs, usually slates or ridge tiles lifted off in high wind, or flashing torn away exposing the timbers underneath. The priority on the first visit is always making the property safe and stopping water getting further in, sorting the permanent, proper repair comes second, once conditions allow it to be done right rather than rushed in the rain.
What’s covered
When water's coming through a ceiling or slates are coming off in the wind, the first job is stopping it getting any worse. The proper repair comes after that, once it's safe to do it right.
Getting it safe and watertight
We aim to be out the same day on active leaks and storm damage. Loose slates, ridge tiles and flashings secured, anything hanging made safe, and temporary weatherproofing over the opening so water stops getting in while the weather is still against us.
The permanent repair
Booked in straight away rather than left hanging, and carried out once conditions allow it to be done properly instead of rushed in the rain. You'll know what it needs and what it costs before we come back to do it.
Paperwork for your insurer
Photos of the damage and a written record of what we did and why. That's what most insurers want to see, and having it from the first visit makes the claim a good deal less painful than trying to piece it together afterwards.
Westerly storms off the Solway are what generate most of our call-outs, so we're used to working in weather. Sunday is emergency call-outs only, but a genuine emergency is a priority whenever you get hold of us.
