How we can help
Most roofs don't need replacing. They need the right repair, done properly. We trace the actual source of the problem, show you photos of what we find and fix it so it stays fixed. If a repair genuinely won't do the job, we'll tell you straight.
Dumfries & Galloway roofs take a battering from driving rain and south-westerly wind off the Solway, and most of the repair call-outs we go to are either storm damage or nail sickness on older slate, where the fixings have failed even though the slate itself is fine. Most of what we do is repair work, and most of it starts with working out where the water is actually getting in, which is rarely where it's showing up inside.
Finding the actual leak
A stain on a bedroom ceiling can come from a slipped slate three metres away, a split in the lead at the chimney, or a gutter that hasn't drained properly in two years. We get up and find the source before quoting for anything, because fixing the wrong thing is an expensive way of discovering you had a different problem.
The repair itself
Slipped, cracked and missing slates and tiles refixed or replaced, ridges and verges rebedded, lead flashing renewed around chimneys and valleys, felt and membrane patched where it's gone. We match materials to what's already up there, including sourcing reclaimed slate for older properties, so the repair doesn't stand out from the street.
What you get afterwards
Photos of what we found and photos of the finished job, so you can see what you've paid for without going up a ladder yourself. And if we get up there and think you'd be throwing good money after bad, we'll tell you that rather than take the work.
