Fascias & Soffits
Rotten timber replaced with low-maintenance uPVC fascias, soffits and bargeboards that finish the roofline properly.
How we can help
Rotten fascias and sagging soffits let birds, vermin and weather into your roof space, and make an otherwise sound house look tired. We strip the old timber and replace it with low-maintenance uPVC that finishes the roofline properly.
Timber fascias are usually the first thing to go on an older property, painted over year after year until the wood underneath is soft and no longer holding its fixings. Swapping to uPVC isn't just cosmetic, ventilated soffits let the roof space breathe properly, which matters for stopping condensation building up in the loft and causing problems with the timbers above it.

What’s covered
Fascias are usually the first thing to go on an older house, painted over year after year until the timber behind has gone soft and won't hold a fixing any more. Once that happens the gutter starts pulling away and birds and wasps find their way into the roof space.
The old timber comes out
We strip the rotten boards off rather than cladding straight over the top of them, which is a common shortcut and just seals the rot in behind new plastic. Anything structural that's gone soft gets dealt with before the new boards go anywhere near it.
New fascias, soffits and bargeboards
Low-maintenance uPVC in white or a woodgrain finish, fitted to a clean straight roofline. No more repainting it every few summers, and it won't rot again in ten years' time.
Ventilation and sealing up
Ventilated soffits so the roof space can breathe, which is what keeps condensation from building up in the loft and causing trouble in the timbers above. Any gaps where birds or vermin have been getting in are closed off properly.
The gutter has to come off to reach the fascia anyway, so it's the obvious moment to renew that too if it's seen better days. Saves a second visit and a second lot of access.
Signs you need this
Fascias and soffits go quietly, and most people only notice once the gutter starts sagging. Worth a look for:
- Peeling or flaking paint on the fascia boards
- Soft or spongy timber when pressed
- Gaps where soffits have pulled away, letting birds or wasps in
- Guttering that's come loose because the fascia behind it has rotted
- Visible daylight between the roofline and the wall
- Fascias that look tired or discoloured compared to the rest of the house

Questions about fascias & soffits
Repainting only buys time if the timber underneath is still sound. Once it's rotten, uPVC removes the ongoing maintenance entirely and won't rot again, so it's a one-time job rather than a repeat.
